Geographic Scope: Washington State (Puget Sound region and surrounding areas)

Focus Areas:

• Youth-centered environmental restoration and stewardship
• Salmon habitat restoration and riparian buffer restoration
• Urban forestry and ecological restoration
• Green job training and career pathways
• Environmental education and community engagement
• Watershed health and biodiversity

Eligibility:
Based on awarded examples, grants support:

• Nonprofit organizations and community groups
• Projects with youth engagement components
• Restoration work in Washington communities
• Programs serving underserved populations (low-income communities, communities of color, English Language Learners)
• Collaborative projects with multiple partners

What They Fund:

• Hands-on restoration projects (invasive species removal, planting, habitat restoration)
• Youth stipends and paid internship opportunities
• Environmental education and curriculum development
• Career training in conservation and green jobs
• Community engagement and celebration events
• Wilderness immersion experiences
• Paid seasonal positions for emerging environmental leaders

• Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group: Springbrook Creek Trail riparian buffer restoration with youth training
• Tilth Alliance: Youth stewardship internship and paid seasonal positions at urban farm and wetlands
• Northwest Youth Corps: Urban restoration and green job training for 16 teens across Puget Sound region
• Environmental Science Center: Urban forestry and ecological restoration program with 10 students
• Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association: Forest restoration and nature-inspired artmaking for K-5 students
• Whale Scout: Seeds to Sky program - salmon habitat restoration for 25 high school students
