Geographic Scope: Eight-county service area of Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (WV and OH)

• Diverse programming serving all ages
• Community needs as they change over time

Fund Composition: Comprised of several unrestricted funds left to Foundation by donors including members of Boutaugh, Kelvington, Naylor, Schlobohm, Strauss and Weimer families

Program History:

• Made possible through 50 years of donor contributions
• Recent cycle (2023): $78,676 awarded to 12 organizations
• Designed as flexible method of grantmaking responsive to changing community needs

Recent Award Examples (2023):

• Programs addressing relatives as parents, safe spaces for youth, mentoring, historically black college tours, summer enrichment, volunteer matching, after-school programs, hotspot access, mental health support, food security, parks and recreation
