Community Health Improvement Grant

CommonSpirit Health offers the Community Health Improvement Grant to enhance health equity and service systems for underserved populations. Through collaborative efforts with 501(c)(3) organizations, this initiative provides financial support for essential health projects. Grant amounts range from $19,500 for small grants to $150,000 for standard grants, varying by hospital. Participating hospitals include those under Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, aimed at addressing significant community health needs.

Community Health Improvement Grants
Our Community Health Improvement Grants program is one way we are working with others to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable and underserved populations in the communities we serve.
The grant program helps to improve community health and health equity, and enhance local service systems, via restricted charitable contributions for defined projects. Collaborating 501(c)3 non-profit organizations apply to receive grant funding.nds from our hospitals to address significant issues in community health needs assessments.
Participating Hospitals
Participating hospitals include those of Catholic Health Initiatives, Dignity Health and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. Hospitals in CommonSpirit’s Mountain Region (Colorado, Kansas and Utah) do not participate in the Community Health Improvement Grants, but have a separate Health Equity & Advancement Fund grant program.
Grant Award Ranges
Grant award ranges have minimum and maximum amounts that vary by hospital, within the categories of small grants (up to $19,500) and standard grants (from $20,000 to as much as $150,000). Each participating hospital has a specific grant funding range.

IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofits (or projects with a 501(c)(3) fiscal agent) addressing significant health needs from a participating CommonSpirit hospital's community health needs assessment, serving underserved populations in that hospital's service area; standard grants ($20,000+) require collaborating partner organizations.
