Community Grants

Grants for local nonprofit organizations, considered by the Community Impact Committee (CIC). These grants fund new programs and those funded by designated resources.

Funding Approach:
Grants are funded by endowments and special purpose funds held at the Columbus Jewish Foundation, a JewishColumbus partner.

Recent Award Examples (FY23):
Total awarded: $554,400 across multiple organizations including:

• Columbus Jewish Day School Community Engagement Grant: $24,000
• Columbus Torah Academy Community Rebuilding and Engagement: $57,000
• Hillel at OSU Birthright: Expanded and Enhanced: $53,500
• JCC Jewish Community Disabilities Inclusion Director: $80,000
• Jewish Family Services Food Support for Victims of Nazi Persecution: $65,000
• Jewish Family Services Trauma and Grief Supports: $50,000
• And many others

Mini-Grants Available: Limited funding available for mini-grants of $2,500 or less for local Jewish Arts programs more than 8 weeks out.

For Mini-Grants ($2,500 or less):

1. Program must be in the area of Jewish Arts (defined as the art, not the artist)
2. Program must be planned more than 8 weeks in the future
