Community Engagement Fund

Purpose: To support designated temporary community initiatives endorsed by the Foundation through collective action groups and community organizations.

Geographic Scope: South Madison County, Indiana

How It Works: Through the use of Foundation back-office services and commitment to expenditure responsibility, community projects can benefit from SMCF's nonprofit infrastructure and structural framework.

Example Projects:

  • Lapel Gazebo Project

  • Pendleton Log Cabin Project

  • ParkFest
  • Startup Support: Some startup efforts, such as Pendleton Artist's Society and Main Street Pendleton, used the Foundation's structural framework while working to achieve their own nonprofit status.
