Community Driven Innovation Services (CDI) Funding

A unique funding opportunity designed to support programs and services that local communities determine they want and need – implemented in a more effective, equitable and sustainable way.

Geographic Scope: Palm Beach County, Florida

Focus Areas: Community-identified needs and services

Eligibility:

• Organizations with operating budgets of $1 million or less
• Nonprofit organizations

Award Details:

• Maximum Award: $50,000 per program in the initial year
• Contract Duration: One year with potential renewal for two additional years (up to 3 years total)

Background:

• Request for Proposal released in January 2021
• CSC staff worked with external partners and community members to create an inviting application process for organizations without prior CSC funding experience
• 21 organizations submitted proposals; 20 advanced to review process
• Eight organizations were awarded funding for fiscal year 2021-22:

  • Boldin Community Impact, Inc.
  • Delray Beach Children's Garden, Inc.
  • 4Knowledge is Power, Inc.
  • Soil and Soul, Inc.
  • The Children's Healing Institute
  • Jump for Joi, Inc.
  • Esperanza Community Center, Inc.
