Community Assistance Fund

Geographic Scope: Smith County, Texas

Program Purpose: The Community Assistance Fund offers financial support for short-term, immediate needs that address critical issues in Smith County.

Funding Criteria

• Provides funding for short-term needs of eligible nonprofit agencies
• Maximum award: $5,000 per request
• A short-term need is defined as an unforeseen need not covered by the budget or present financial resources of the agency, which may cause disruption of a program or service
• Grants must meet all other funding guidelines and be consistent with the Position Statements of the League

Eligibility Requirements

1. Requests shall show proof of agency's 501(c)(3) status
2. Requests shall benefit residents of Smith County
3. Requests shall be submitted in writing to the Junior League of Tyler, Inc.
4. Funding is limited to one Junior League of Tyler grant per fiscal year (June 1 – May 31)
5. Documentation of all expenditures and follow-up report may be required
6. All requests must be made between June 1 and May 1

   • Is this an ongoing need? (Yes/No)
   • If yes, how will the need be met?

   • Current list of Board of Directors (PDF, max 256 MB)
   • Most recent Financial Statement as approved by the Board of Directors (PDF, max 256 MB)
   • Project Budget with requested funds denoted (PDF, max 256 MB)
   • IRS Designation Letter (PDF, max 256 MB)
