Colorado Tree Coalition Community Forestry Grants (CTC Grant)

CTC Community Forestry Grants of $1,000-$8,000, funded by the Colorado State Forest Service and US Forest Service, initiate, improve and enhance community forestry programs statewide - increasing canopy and species diversity, expanding tree access in low-canopy areas and smaller municipalities without forestry staff, and embedding consistent planning and management. Applicants: local governments, districts or nonprofits; projects must be on public property or show clear, direct community benefit. Eligible work: tree planting (diverse, site-appropriate species with a long-term care plan), maintenance by certified arborists or structured volunteers, tree inventories with approved software, education and outreach, and management planning. Requires an equal cash match; funds are paid after completion and final report approval at 50% of tree-related cash expenditures up to the award. Recent awards ranged $1,100-$4,065 (e.g. Root for Justice, Colorado Springs; Montessori Peaks Academy; Food to Power). CTC has granted over $1.2M since 1991.

Email a one-page letter of interest to programadmin@coloradotrees.org with contact name, address, phone, email, FEIN, project description, overall budget and amount requested. The Grant Committee reviews LOIs as received; selected projects are assigned a grant liaison and invited to apply, then presented to the Executive Committee for approval.
