Colonial Period Restoration and Preservation Grants

Funder: Society of Colonial Wars in the State of New Jersey (SCWNJ)

Geographic Scope: Projects should be physically located within New Jersey or refer to New Jersey, or relate to events or objects dating to the Colonial Period

Time Period Focus: Colonial Period between May 13, 1607, and April 19, 1775

Funding Focus

• Physical restoration or actual physical preservation of Colonial Period documents, objects, or structures
• Educational programs on Colonial Period themes

Eligibility Requirements

• All plans for restoration or preservation must be approved before grant application
• Projects should be completed within one year
• On request, grants for uncompleted projects after one year may be renewed after further review

What Will NOT Be Funded

• Routine maintenance projects
• Consultant's studies

Grant Administration

• All grant funds are held by the Society
• Funds are released only when bills are paid or invoices are presented for work carried out
• If projects remain uncompleted after one year and are not renewed, money is returned to the Society's general funds
