Colleen Anderson Excellence in Cancer Care Award Grant

The Colleen Anderson Excellence in Cancer Care Award, established by MOCA in 2020, recognizes exceptional individuals in the cancer care continuum who provide outstanding support to women with ovarian cancer. Each year, a $2,500 award is granted to those in frontline roles, including nurses, therapists, and office staff. Nominations can be made by patients, family members, or colleagues, highlighting the vital contributions of all who assist in the emotional and physical care of cancer patients.

Each year, MOCA awards $2,500 to one individual in the cancer care continuum who provides exceptional care to women with ovarian cancer.
The Colleen Anderson Excellence in Cancer Care Award is open to those in frontline positions who interact with ovarian cancer patients and their caregivers and is not limited to healthcare professionals.
This award was established in 2020 by the family of Colleen Anderson, who recognized that everyone involved in the cancer care continuum has an important role in supporting patients and their families emotionally and physically.

Formed in 1999 by a group of ovarian cancer survivors, MOCA is a statewide nonprofit organization serving women and families from throughout the Upper Midwest.

Eligibility

The awardee may be a nurse, doctor, office worker, lab technician, therapist, or any other individual who demonstrates deep compassion and exceptional professionalism while working with ovarian cancer survivors in a professional care setting during the course of their treatment.The cash award is unrestricted and may be used for any purpose.Nominators for the award may be patients, family members, or professional colleagues.
