The COE AmeriCorps Scholarship at the University of Maryland supports AmeriCorps alumni in pursuing teaching careers. The College of Education, with over 100 years of excellence, offers up to five awards of $4,000 each to individuals who have completed full-time AmeriCorps service. Applicants must enroll in a Master's Certification program leading to teacher certification and complete a brief scholarship application describing their service.

The three departments are the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education (CHSE); Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology; and Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership (TLPL). AmeriCorps Scholarship The College of Education is proud to support AmeriCorps alumni who wish to continue their service by becoming teachers! As an AmeriCorps School of National Service, we provide scholarship funds to individuals who have successfully completed full-time service with AmeriCorps. Each school year, the College of Education will issue up to five awards of up to $4,000 each.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. AmeriCorps alumni who have successfully completed their full-time term of service with AmeriCorps. Those who have successfully completed part-time AmeriCorps programs may be eligible for a prorated award. Applicants must be enrolled in the Master’s Certification program (MCERT), a one-year graduate-level teacher preparation program that leads to teacher certification (elementary, middle, secondary, or PreK-12) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in curriculum and instruction. Applicants must complete a very brief scholarship application that describes their service with AmeriCorps.
