CoBank Sharing Success Grant

Funder: Victory Electric Cooperative in partnership with CoBank (a national nonprofit cooperative bank)

Overview:
An annual grant program designed to support local nonprofit organizations in Victory Electric's service area. Victory Electric's governing board of trustees awards between 1 and 3 organizations from a capped pool of $30,000 annually. Over the last decade, Victory Electric has awarded $215,000 in total Sharing Success grants.

Geographic Scope:
Grant funds must benefit communities that receive electric service from Victory Electric. The applicant/organization's service area should align with or overlap with Victory Electric's service territory and membership.

Focus Areas:
Support for local nonprofit organizations serving rural Kansas communities and the public good.

    Organization Eligibility

  • 501(c)(3) charities are generally eligible
  • Select non-501(c)(3) organizations may also be eligible, including:
  • - Schools - Government organizations (counties, municipalities, agencies, or departments) as long as grant funding serves a public purpose and is consistent with Sharing Success guidelines
  • NOT eligible:
  • - Organizations that are political or religious in nature - Organizations that limit activities or services based on religious or political affiliation - Organizations that discriminate for any reason

    Use of Funds

  • Grant funding must be used within 12 months of award
  • Quarterly progress reports required
  • Final report on project outcomes required
  • Victory Electric reserves the right to use photos and information about the grant award in publicity

Application Period: January 5 - March 2 (annual)

Application Requirements:

  • Complete online application form

  • All applications must be complete and submitted through the online application process

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Selection Process:

  • Victory Electric personnel review applications for completeness

  • Qualifying applications are submitted to an external selection committee of impartial judges

  • Judges evaluate based on application criteria

  • Winners are notified
