Clinician Scientist Development Grant (CSDG)

The Clinician Scientist Development Grant (CSDG) by the American Cancer Society supports full-time faculty aiming to become independent clinician scientists while maintaining clinical practice. Eligible applicants must hold a doctoral degree, an active clinical license, and have clinical care experience. The grant provides funding of $135,000 annually for 3 to 5 years, including allowable indirect costs, to advance cancer research in key priority areas.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) has established these 6 areas to prioritize the research we fund to help advance the mission. All research proposals (except Institutional Research Grants, Mission Boost Grants, and Professor grants) must fall into at least 1 of these 6 priority areas:

• You ARE eligible to submit a proposal if you:

Work at a US academic institution or eligible non-profitHave a doctoral degree, an active clinical license, and participate in clinical care Are not a current or former principal investigator (PI) of an individual mentored training grantHave NOT had an R-level or equivalent grant as PI
Awards may be for 3 to 5 years with $135,000 a year for direct costs, plus 8% allowable indirect costs.
