Overview

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Part-Time Virtual Program

Program Overview: A part-time, one-unit CPE program where students arrange their own clinical placement outside of Mercy facilities with educator approval. Designed for individuals with other commitments.

Format: Part-time, flexible clinical placement arrangement

    Program Goals & Target Audience

    Intended For:
  • People with other commitments that don't allow completion of clinical hours at Mercy hospital
  • Those seeking CPE certification with scheduling flexibility

    Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or other professional designation (such as RN) required
  • Sufficient theological background required

    Experience Requirements

  • Faith group or community leadership experience expected

    Clinical Placement

  • Arrangement: Students arrange own clinical placement with approval from CPE educator
  • Location: Outside of Mercy facilities
  • Virtual Option: Students who wish to complete clinical hours outside of Mercy may pursue CPE virtually

    Work Authorization

  • Visa Sponsorship: Mercy does NOT provide visa sponsorship
  • All applicants must be fully authorized to work and/or study in their chosen jurisdiction when applying

  • Holding Fee: $100 non-refundable (applied to tuition later)
  • Tuition: $650 per unit

Application Process
