Climate Justice Organizing Fund
Focus: Grassroots community organizing for climate justice
Geographic Scope: Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Camden counties
Status: Applications opened February 6 – March 6, 2026. Next cycle expected early 2027.
- Meet all basic Bread & Roses eligibility criteria
- Located in Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Camden counties)
- Designated as 501(c)(3) or have fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status
- Current with all progress reports from previous Bread & Roses grants
- Submit complete application before deadline
- Using community organizing to create sustainable social change
Eligibility Requirements
- Organizations with long-term vision for social justice
- Focus on community organizing and activism (not social service or educational programs)
- Clear understanding of root causes of problems
- Vision emphasizing systems change
- Strategy including building local base for collective action
- Leadership primarily composed of people affected by the issue
What Bread & Roses Funds
- Direct service work/social services
- Self-help/empowerment programs
- Educational programs
- Advocacy
- Research
- Schools
- Capital campaigns or building projects
- Scholarships, fellowships, or grants to individuals (except Lax Scholarship Fund)
What Bread & Roses Does NOT Fund
- Organizations can receive up to $50,000 total from Bread & Roses within a 12-month period
- Organizations can apply for grants in every eligible fund
