CLIMATE and ENVIRONMENT – Enhancement Riparian Buffer Grant
Supports implementing high priority, cost-effective, native riparian woody buffer plantings along rivers and streams using native vegetation. Projects must have a minimum buffer width of 35 feet and a minimum planting density of at least 300 stems/acre. WUV's Enhancement Survivorship Application allows requests fund buffer enhanced survivorship treatment activities of re-planting, vine removal, and weeding throughout 2026 and 2027.

Notes
A separate application is required for each riparian buffer planting site. Groups can submit more than one application. Projects must have an ID in the DEC Watershed Projects Database and be approved by the DEC Watershed Planner and River Scientist before funds are awarded. Awards through this program can be used as match for other grants.
