Overview: In partnership with Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance, these awards support research specifically investigating chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (chRCC) with the goal of advancing mechanistic understanding and informing future treatment strategies.

Geographic Scope: International

Required Focus: Projects must investigate the distinct biological features and therapeutic vulnerabilities of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma

Research Areas Supported:

Molecular, genomic, or metabolic characterization of chRCC

Biological mechanisms distinguishing chRCC from other types of kidney cancer

Biomarker discovery or validation

Functional interrogation of disease drivers

Identification of subtype-specific therapeutic targets

Translational or preclinical therapeutic development

Integration of clinical datasets or real-world evidence (optional) to:

- Support biological hypotheses
- Identify clinically relevant subgroups
- Correlate molecular findings with patient outcomes

Emphasis: Primary emphasis on biological and translational research; applicants may optionally incorporate analyses of real-world data (RWD) or real-world evidence (RWE) when such data strengthen or contextualize the biological objectives.
