Summary
The Chichester DuPont Foundation provides grants focused on environmental, educational, healthcare, and social service initiatives, emphasizing support for underprivileged children in Delaware. Organizations are encouraged to develop relationships with trustees to enhance funding success. Grants typically cover one year, with potential for multi-year funding in special interest areas. Nonprofit organizations exempt under Section 501(c)(3) are eligible, while individuals and for-profit entities are not. The foundation seeks innovative proposals and capital improvements to drive positive change.Overview
Chichester DuPont Foundation The Clark Fund devotes particular emphasis to programs concerned with the environment, education, health care and social services and to which the Foundation’s giving will play a pivotal role. The Lydia Fund, formed on the death of Lydia C. duPont in 1958, was created for the benefit of The Children’s Beach House, Lewes, Delaware and focuses on the needs, medical care, treatment and education of underprivileged children throughout the State of Delaware. Both funds offer the Trustees the opportunity and challenge to provide positive, sustained change to our world. Policies Organizations that develop an association and program understanding, with at least one trustee, experience the greatest likelihood of funding success. Preference is given to proposals for new initiatives, special projects, the expansion of current programs and capital improvement. The trustees devote particular emphasis to programs concerned with the environment, education, health care and those to which the Foundation’s giving will play a pivotal role. Grants are usually awarded for one year only. Projects in areas the Foundation has a special interest may be considered for multi-year funding. Organizations may reapply from one year to the next. Only one grant application may be submitted in any calendar year. Organizations receiving grants are required to complete an evaluation report within twelve months after receipt of the funds.Eligibility
