Chicagoland Food Industry Scholarship - Undergraduate & Graduate (Part-Time)

Purpose: Support undergraduate and graduate students intending to work in the food industry in their pursuit of higher education

    Geographic Scope

    Applicants must have a permanent address in OR be enrolled in a College/University within the following zip codes:
  • 60000-61999
  • 62300-62399
  • 62500-62799
  • 46300-46499

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in Fall 2025 (or applicable year)
  • Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Food Science or Food Science-related area (Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Safety, Engineering, etc.)
  • Must be eligible to eventually work in Chicagoland area
  • Must be a student member of IFT (Institute of Food Technologists)
  • Must provide 2 references who complete the online reference form
  • Attending school or residing within Chicago Section IFT boundaries
  • Part-time enrollment status

Additional Benefits

Mentorship Opportunity: Scholarship recipients receive mentorship from food science industry professionals and/or academia. The Student Mentorship Program runs for 3 months with 6 total meetings (September-November)
