How to Apply

1. Pre-application consultation (Optional but encouraged):
- Email a brief description of your proposal to cefgrantscommittee@chathamedfoundation.org
- CC your supervisor
- Set up a time to discuss your idea with the grants committee

2. Review required materials:
- Review the Funding Guidelines & Grant Procedures
- Check Grant Application Monthly Deadlines
- Review the Grant Application Form
- Review Instructions for SDOC staff

3. Prepare your grant proposal:
- Identify and clearly explain the educational need or issue you want to address
- Share a story (protecting student identities) that helps readers understand student backgrounds, experiences, and challenges
- Clearly articulate your solution and how requested resources will address the identified issues
- Paint a picture of the work you will do with students
- Explain why your chosen tools/resources will make a difference
- Share evidence and research supporting your approach
- Include examples of potential outcomes and sample student artifacts
- Define what success looks like and how you will evaluate project success
- Share clear identifiers and outcomes to measure achievement of goals

4. Submit your application:
- Follow the monthly deadline schedule
- Use the official Grant Application Form
- Submit according to instructions provided in the application materials

Required Elements for Successful Proposals

* Clear goal or vision statement
* Clear set of outcomes to measure success
* Evidence of educational need
* Description of proposed solution with specific examples
* Research and evidence supporting the approach
* Evaluation plan with measurable indicators
* Alignment with SDOC and Board of Education goals
* No request for items outside CEF's funding scope
