Overview

Federal grants to support development of electric vehicle charging stations and alternative fuel infrastructure. The program prioritizes locations that serve in-town travel and benefit from community access.

    Success Story

    The City of Lansing was awarded Round 1 CFI funding (the only project in Michigan to receive Round 1 CFI funding in this highly competitive national program). The Lansing project will invest $10 million in public EV charging in the region, with $8 million from U.S. DOT and additional funding from local partners. The project includes community engagement phases and focuses on:
  • Personal vehicle charging
  • Transit bus electrification infrastructure
  • Municipal fleet vehicle charging
