CFCW: Major Projects Grant

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin offers the Major Projects grant to support impactful community projects in Portage and Waushara counties. Annually, one project is funded with grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000. Eligible organizations include nonprofit agencies and government entities that are tax-exempt, aiming to benefit the general public. Projects in the areas of Arts, Education, Environment, Helping People, and Wellness are encouraged, while operating expenses and political lobbying are ineligible.

We are a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 1982 to provide scholarships and grants to organizations and projects that improve the quality of life in Portage and Waushara counties.
The Major Projects cycle at the Community Foundation supports the growth and development of a community project that makes a major impact in Portage and/or Waushara counties.
This cycle will fund up to one project annually in the range of $25,000-$50,000.

Eligibility

Eligible Organizations
Nonprofit agencies, organizations, or government entities that are state and federal tax exempt
Established community groups wishing to complete a community program or project for the benefit of the general public of Portage or Waushara countiesEligible Projects:Unique community programs or projects for the benefit of Portage or Waushara counties
Capital CampaignsOrganizations may only submit one Major Project application per year.

Ineligibility

Ineligible Projects:Operating expensesProjects in which CFCWI funds will provide more than 50% of total project budget
Debt retirement
Requests for emergency funding or other financial shortfalls
