Carrie Ehlers Memorial Scholarship Fund

Background: Established in 2009 to honor the memory of Carrie Ehlers, ECA Past President who passed away in 2008. Carrie was passionate about supporting young women in business and was a dedicated mentor, businesswoman, and community volunteer.

Purpose: Support and recognize deserving female students pursuing degrees in business.

Geographic Scope: United States (Wisconsin-based)

Award Details:

• Amount: $1,500 per scholarship (increased from $1,000 in 2018)
• Number of Awards: Two scholarships awarded annually
• Recipients: One scholarship to a student at Carroll University; one to a student at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business

Eligibility:

• Female students
• Pursuing a degree in business
• Graduating senior (or as determined by the respective universities)
• Attending either Carroll University or University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business

• Fund has grown to over $126,685 as of the most recent update
• Managed by Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Inc.
• Each university selects and awards the scholarship based on ECA-established criteria

Application Process

How to Apply:
Applications are processed directly through the respective universities (Carroll University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business). Students do not apply directly to the ECA.

Selection Process:

• Each university selects and awards the scholarship based on criteria established by the ECA
• Universities identify eligible female students pursuing business degrees
• Selection is made from graduating seniors (or as determined by each institution)

To Support the Scholarship:
Donations can be made to the Carrie Ehlers Memorial Scholarship Fund through:

• Direct donations via the ECA website
• Annual ECA MarketPlace golf tournament (proceeds support the fund)
• Raffles and fundraising events at ECA functions
• Contact ECA directly for donation options

Note: This is a scholarship program where universities identify and select recipients. Individual students do not submit separate applications to the ECA; rather, they must be enrolled as graduating seniors at one of the two designated universities.
