About CareerWise Elkhart County (Recipient):

Initiative of Horizon Education Alliance

Offers 2-to-3-year apprenticeships to high school students

Part of CareerWise USA network (operates in 4 states + DC)

All apprenticeships registered through U.S. Department of Labor

Since 2019 launch: 81 high school students participated, 17 completed DOL certification, 100% of completers secured employment or enrolled in postsecondary education

Currently 40 apprentices in program

Engages all 7 public school districts in Elkhart County

Serves approximately 5,000 high school juniors and seniors
