Geographic Scope: NESU (North Eastern State University) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
Eligible Applicants: Students attending North Eastern State University (NESU)
Purpose: The scholarship is designed to support students with a full, educational experience. Mr. Bivens envisioned the money being used as "pocket money" or funds that can help support social experiences as well as academic learning.
Background: Mr. Carl Bivens graduated from Claremore High School in Oklahoma and from NESU. He taught as a band director in Oklahoma for 25 years. He believed his education at NESU gave him a wonderful life. He was a Montrose resident until his passing in 2020.
