Summary

The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Impact Funding program aims to enhance career exploration for students in grades 5-12 across a diverse region. Overview

The Northeast Service Cooperative is committed to ensuring all students in our 32 District, 8-county region have equitable access to programs connecting learners to career experiences and opportunities with area businesses, industries, labor unions, and post-secondary education. We are excited to launch new programs which integrate career exploration, allowing students hands-on, career-connected learning. In addition, we are committed to providing support for our Career & Technical Education (CTE) educators through training, professional development, and teacher externships. We seek to provide coordination and support for schools to implement career pathways and coordination for professional educators to serve as career navigators and work-based learning coordinators for our students. Career and Technical Education (CTE) Impact Grants Career and Technical Education (CTE) Impact Grants are a part of the Minnesota Service Cooperative CTE pathway growth initiative to provide robust CTE experiences for students in grades 5 through 12. Our focus is to increase the number of students equipped with the career and college readiness skills employers need. We encourage projects that utilize creativity and flexible thinking to serve students in new ways, providing them with an opportunity for exploration, exposure, and experiences that guide their career and college choices and build pathways to pursue them. MSC CTE Project Funds MUST accomplish at least one of the following in accordance with the authorizing legislation for this funding: Develop career pathways Develop new CTE programs tied to regional industries/economy Equip students with technical/workplace skills Improve access to CTE programs by developing public/private partnerships and/or increasing postsecondary options. Increase family/student awareness of CTE. Provide industry-level equipment/technologies supporting skills development Funds should not supplant existing CTE programs, courses, experiences, or previously funded projects.
