Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund Grant

The Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund Grant, established by the Capital City Marathon Association, supports projects in Thurston, Lewis, and Mason counties aimed at promoting healthy living. Eligible organizations include nonprofits and public schools, focusing on personal health, nutrition, and accessibility in sports. The fund prioritizes community-driven projects and has contributed over $15 million to various causes since its inception. This grant encourages local initiatives that foster health and well-being among residents.

Since our founding in 1989, the generosity of our community has allowed us to make more than $15million in grants and scholarships.
Funding Priorities & Goals
Funding is available for projects in Thurston, Lewis, and Mason counties that will increase the understanding and practice of healthy living. To accomplish this goal, the grant supports projects that focus on one or more of the following:

Eligibility

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, booster clubs, public schools and/or school districts, and tribal organizations are eligible to be considered for this grant. If your organization does not fall under an eligible category, you must secure a fiscal sponsor.We consider applications that: Are complete and in the requested format and clearly describe proposed activities and plans
Demonstrate reasonable financial health and basic capacity
Demonstrate how programs will be created, improved, or expanded due to grant funding
Commit to documenting and submitting outcomes due to grant funding
Align with Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund program goals
Serve Thurston, Lewis, and/or Mason countiesEach organization may submit one application per cycle.

Ineligibility

This grant does not support:  Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, age, status as a veteran, national origin, or any protected classes
Endowments, debt reduction, building funds, or annual fund campaigns
Political activities
Religious organizations when funds would be used in whole or in part to further the organization’s religious purposes or where religious participation is required
