Program Description

CANERS provides scholarships to college students currently enrolled in 6 units or more within a program related to the nursery industry. Since 1989, the organization has funded over $1 million in scholarships for students pursuing careers in horticulture.

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled college students
• Enrolled in 6 or more units in a program related to the nursery industry
• Majoring in horticulture or related field
• Academic performance: While grades are important, a B student who participates in horticulture-related activities may be selected over an A student who does not participate in related activities
• Participation in horticulture-related activities (FFA, 4-H, or other related activities preferred)

Required Materials

• Current school year letters of recommendation (email letters are NOT accepted; must be on school letterhead)
• Current transcripts
• Computer-generated transcripts (not printed by school admissions office) must be signed by horticulture instructor

Eligible Institutions

Recipients have completed degrees at institutions including:
• Cabrillo College
• California Polytechnic State University (Pomona and San Luis Obispo)
• Diablo Valley College
• Foothill Community College
• Merritt College
• Mount San Antonio College
• University of California, Davis
• And more
