NOTE: Both parts (Application Form and the Referee Assessment Form) of the application must be received by the deadline. Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) Fellowship The fellowship is open to candidates enrolled in studies in Human Ecology including Family and Consumer Sciences, at the masters or doctoral level. The applicant must be accepted or enrolled in a post-graduate program in Canada at the time of application. The evolving studies in Human Ecology include: human nutrition, food science, housing/shelter and aesthetics, architecture, financial resource management, clothing and textiles, family relations, human sexuality, and human development.

Eligibility

Fellowship Criteria:For a woman enrolled in a Canadian university for studies at the Master’s or Doctorate level in Human Ecology, including Family and Consumer Sciences. Applicants must: Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada; or have proof of status as a Protected Person from Immigration and Citizenship Canada (claimants are not eligible to apply); and is enrolled or has been accepted in an approved graduate research program.If approvals of ethical reviews and/or research are required, the dates of approval reviews must be included in the application.Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university as stipulated in the requirements for each award.Proof of registration will be required before funds are released. Successful applicants must continue to be enrolled at the university cited in their application throughout the tenure of the award.Any changes to research projects or project supervisors must be pre-approved by CFUW for the applicant to continue receiving her award.No applicant will be granted more than one CFUW Fellowship or Award each year. An applicant may win a maximum of three Fellowships and Awards during her lifetime. No more than two awards will be given for the same academic degree. Successful applicants can hold other awards concurrently.

Ineligibility

A CFUW Fellowship or Award is not divisible. CFUW Fellowships and Awards are non-renewable. A successful recipient will not be awarded the same Fellowship or Award in consecutive years.
