Camp Tamarack Student Leader Scholarship

Overview:
The Student Leader Scholarship is designed to support high school seniors from Central Oregon who have volunteered at Camp Tamarack and plan to continue their education beyond high school. The scholarship recognizes student leaders who have demonstrated dedication and made significant impact on the camp community, and supports their pursuit of higher education in any field of study.

Focus Areas:
Scholarships support students pursuing education in:

  • Science

  • Technology

  • Engineering

  • The Arts

  • Mathematics

  • Education

  • Or any other path
  • Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must meet ALL three criteria:
    1. Be a graduating high school senior in Central Oregon
    2. Have volunteered at Camp Tamarack for two separate weeks
    3. Have received a passing evaluation each session of volunteering

    Selection Process

    • Applications and essays reviewed by committee of administrative staff, organizational partners, and community members
    • Each committee member reviews all submissions and rates applicants using their own criteria
    • Scores compiled to determine scholarship finalists
    • Finalists and families invited to Camp Tamarack's end-of-year gathering where scholarships are awarded

    Application Process

    Deadline: May 10th at 4:00 PM PST (2026-05-10)

    Required Materials:
    1. Completed student application form
    2. Essay (reviewed by selection committee)
    3. Volunteer evaluation(s) from Camp Tamarack sessions

    Steps:
    1. Complete application form with personal information and volunteer history
    2. Write essay addressing why you are a strong candidate (specific prompts not detailed on website)
