Overview

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Since our creation by Congress in 1984, NFWF has grown to become the nation’s largest private conservation foundation. We work with both the public and private sectors to protect and restore our nation’s fish, wildlife, plants and habitats for current and future generations. NFWF supports conservation efforts across all 50 states and U.S. territories. Since our founding, we've funded over 23,300 rigorously evaluated projects, awarded to both large environmental organizations and small local initiatives. California Forests and Watersheds - Wildfires Restoration Grant Program Overview NFWF, in close cooperation with the Angeles National Forest is pleased to announce the California Forests and Watersheds – Wildfires Restoration Grant Program for the recovery of Angeles National Forest (ANF) lands and watersheds degraded from the influences of past wildfire events. This funding opportunity is applicable to only the following wildfires: Angeles National Forest: Copper (2002) and Sayre (2008) fires. The major goals of this competitive grant program are to: Increase the pace and scale of restoration to address impacts from these fires Provide sustainable and lasting ecological benefits to the ANF Engage in efficient, strategic, and innovative solutions to improve forest health and resilience such as Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) barrier installation and invasive species removal along roads within Copper/Sayre Fire-affected areas Encourage ‘shared-stewardship’ of USFS lands through expanded partnership and cooperation
