Overview

BVRMC Auxiliary Health Care & Nursing Scholarships

Funder: Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxiliary

Geographic Scope: Primarily Buena Vista County, Iowa and surrounding areas

Focus Areas: Health care and nursing education in all health-related fields including nursing, radiology, physical therapy, paramedic training, and other medical careers

Award Amount: Three $1,000 scholarships available

Eligibility Categories:

  • Category 1: High School Seniors (within 40-mile radius of BVRMC)

  • Category 2: Child or stepchild of BVRMC employee employed with organization for one year or longer

  • Category 3: BVRMC employee looking to continue education in medical field
  • Award Details:

  • Recipients receive funds upon completion of their first semester or completion of course

  • This is NOT a financial need-based scholarship

  • Applicants are only permitted to be awarded the scholarship twice in their lifetime

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Complete the BVRMC Auxiliary Scholarship Application form
    2. Provide official school transcripts (attach to form)
    3. Submit one written letter of reference on letterhead

    Required Materials

    • Name, phone, address
    • Applicant category selection (High School Senior, BVRMC Employee, or Family Member of Employee)
    • Educational history (most recent first) with cumulative GPA
    • Additional educational experiences/certifications
    • Work experience details
    • Extracurricular activities (last four years)
    • Volunteer experience
    • Awards and honors received
    • Future plans statement: outline degree completion plans, including whether you plan to work while attending school, professional goals, and how the degree helps achieve them
    • Brief statement: explain why seeking financial assistance and note any special circumstances
    • One official letter of reference on letterhead
    • Official school transcripts
    • Applicant signature and date

    Submission Requirements

    • Deadline: March 31 (postmarked or received)
    • Reference Letter: Must be written on letterhead and submitted by mail, in person, or attached to form. Email references NOT accepted.
    • Mail to: BVRMC Auxiliary
    • Applications can be submitted in person, via mail, or through the online form
