Overview

About Us Our Mission Statement To provide grant funding for not-for-profit groups in Buena Vista County and to encourage the endowment of funds for future generations. Grant Seekers The Buena Vista County Community Foundation usually holds two grant funding cycles annually depending on available funds. These rounds are typically in the Spring and Fall of each year. Specific timing of each cycle varies and grant seekers should follow the Foundation on Facebook or here on their web page for notification when new rounds of grants open up. Grants are only awarded to verified not-for-profit organizations with a valid 501.C.3 tax-exempt certification or local forms of government including cities, counties, and school districts. Grants are awarded for capital investment-type projects, not maintenance projects and not operational projects. The Foundation desires to see funds granted used to invest in the community through more of a capital investment type project and not operational. Operational projects, those projects that require additional funding to sustain the operation, program, or benefit are not eligible for the award. Also included in operational funding is any kind of training costs associated with a capital purchase. While the foundation would be favorable toward funding a capital investment or improvement project we will not fund training associated with the capital investment. Grants will generally fit into one of the following categories: Youth Education/DevelopmentArts and Cultural AwarenessEnvironmentalHealth & Human ServicesRecreationCommunity Betterment Small Grants Grants that request $2,000 or less from the Foundation (Note: this is based on the amount requested not the total project cost)No required match - Foundation may cover 100% of the costs Minimum required score of 65 points
