Our Mission The mission of the Bucks County Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for residents of the county by stimulating philanthropic opportunity and developing long-term financial assets to meet a wide range of the community’s charitable needs. Grantmaking Priorities Each year, Bucks County Foundation (BCF) awards grants to nonprofit organizations from its discretionary funds through a competitive grantmaking process. This process is steeped in community knowledge, relying on the contributions of foundation staff and trustees, along with a broad and diverse group of ambassadors. BCF’s grantmaking priorities underscore its mission to enhance the quality of life for residents of Bucks County. BCF seeks grants that work to: Identify community concerns and interests and initiate creative approaches to addressing these needs.Promote solutions that address the causes of community problems, with emphasis on supporting underserved and disadvantaged people.Encourage innovative projects that favor collaborative efforts among community groups or organizations, to address unmet needs.Respect individual concerns in seeking community solutions. Impact Bucks Grant This grant opportunity is supported by BLBB Charitable, Bucks County Foundation and Foundations Community Partnership. Each partner is contributing equally to the IMPACT grant, providing a $75,000 grant award opportunity. The IMPACT Bucks grant is designed to support nonprofits that are committed to creating safe, healthy, and thriving communities by improving economic self-sufficiency and opportunity for socially and/or economically disadvantaged people.Eligibility

Nonprofits whose Bucks County client population equals or exceeds more than 50% of their total client population are eligible to apply. Further, applicants must be exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and classified in Section 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Proposed projects must directly support Bucks County. The IMPACT Bucks grant is a one time, 12-month grant award. Receiving current or past funding from any of the participating funders does not disqualify a nonprofit from applying.Ineligibility
The Foundation does not fund the following:Individuals Private Foundations Deficit financing/debt reduction Political activities Advertising publications Projects aimed at promoting a particular religion or construction project for religious institutions Umbrella funding organizations/pass-through organizations ResearchBCF does not make discretionary grants to organizations that discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, economic circumstance, physical/mental abilities and characteristics, or marital status. This policy is not designed to deny grants to organizations serving defined populations in an effort to help those populations overcome historic discrimination; but exists to prohibit grants to organizations whose policies and practices single out particular groups to deny service, employment, or participation to them.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
