BSO/Arbella School Bus Program

The Arbella Insurance Foundation BSO School Bus Program was created to help schools defray transportation costs associated with field trips to the BSO Youth Concerts.

Geographic Scope: Schools in the Boston area; any school attending BSO Youth Concerts may apply

Focus Areas:

• Transportation support for field trips to BSO Youth Concerts
• Educational access to live orchestra performances
• Supporting school curricula expansion

Eligibility:

• Any school serving grades K-12
• Field trip must be to a Boston Symphony Orchestra Youth Concert
• Schools may apply even after attending the performance

Award Details:

• Maximum award: $300 per grant
• A maximum of two grants per school district, per school year
• Schools are only eligible to receive one grant per school year
• Awards granted on a first-come, first-served basis

Ticket Information:

• Youth Concert tickets: $10 each
• One complimentary ticket for every 20 tickets purchased
• 10% deposit required six weeks before concert
• Remainder due four weeks before concert
• Free tickets: Students and teachers from Boston Public Schools can attend any Youth Concert for free (subject to availability and advance reservation)

2. Submit application to Arbella Insurance Foundation
3. Include field trip information and school details
4. Applications can be submitted before or after attending a BSO Youth Concert

• Awards processed on first-come, first-served basis
• Maximum two grants per school district per school year
• Only one grant per school per year
