British Carbon Group Bursaries Grant

The British Carbon Group Bursaries support student travel for conferences related to carbon science. These bursaries, managed by the Royal Society of Chemistry, cover travel expenses, conference fees, and accommodation. Awards typically reach £155 for UK conferences and £500 for international ones. Royal Society of Chemistry - British Carbon GroupThe British Carbon Group (joint with the Institute of Physics (IOP) and Society of Chemical Industry (SCI)) is one of the RSC's many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit RSC members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the RSC's strategy and charter.The Group promotes the science or technology of graphite and carbon materials. This includes diamond and fullerenes, composites, fibres, deposits and any other relevant carbon science topics in the UK. Travel BursariesThe British Carbon Group has funds available to assist student travel for participation in national and international meetings relating to the science and technology of carbon materials.Please note, the bursary can cover travel expenses, conference fees or accommodation. Sums awarded are normally up to £155 for a UK conference and up to £500 for international conferences.

Eligibility

Applicants should also note that as funds are limited, and to ensure an equitable distribution of funds, normally only one bursary may be awarded to the same research group / department for conferences in any given calendar year Awardees are expected to join the British Carbon Group via the RSC, IOP or SCI or already be members.

Ineligibility

Usually only one applicant per research group/department is funded in a calendar year.Funds are not for conference fees or accommodations.
