Boyd Lyon Scholarship

Background:
Created in memory of Boyd N. Lyon, a respected sea turtle researcher known for his innovative hand-capture method for tagging and studying turtles without nets. This method ensured the capture of rarely studied male sea turtles. The fund was established by Boyd's family and loved ones in partnership with The Ocean Foundation to continue his conservation legacy.

Award Purpose:
Provides annual scholarships to marine biology students whose research is focused on sea turtles. The fund supports projects that enhance understanding of:
