Boone Electric Community Trust Grants

Geographic Scope: Boone Electric Cooperative service area (Columbia, Missouri area)

Funding Focus: Community and economic development projects

  • Eligibility:

  • Organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits

  • One application per calendar year per organization, regardless of funding decision

  • Teachers, students, or volunteers requesting funding for school projects must have applications reviewed, approved, and signed by their school principal
  • Application Review Schedule:

  • Board reviews applications on the second Wednesday of: January, March, May, July, September, and November

  • Applicants are notified in writing once a decision is reached

  • Late or incomplete applications are held until the next funding cycle
  • Important Notes:

  • Incomplete applications will automatically be denied

  • The Trust reserves the right to request revised applications or additional information

  • Applications may be tabled for future consideration to gather more information

  • Final grant report required within six months of receiving funding

    Application Process

    Application Deadlines (all by 5 p.m.):

  • Required Documents to Submit:
    1. Signed and dated completed Application for Organization
    2. Completed Boone Electric Community Trust Financial Statement (included with application)
    3. Copy of organization's 501(c)(3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service
    4. Current list of Board Members with contact information (kept confidential, not used for marketing)
    5. Appropriate bids/estimates/bills directly relating to the request (minimum two bids required)
    6. No more than six additional single-sided pages of supporting information (brochures, letters, etc.) as appendix or attachment only

    Submission Format Requirements:

  • Single-sided on 8.5" x 11" white paper

  • No staples, sticky notes, highlight marks, or color-coded graphics

  • Photos acceptable if included with application or final grant report

  • Do not submit photos of the application or grant report unless asked

    Post-Award Requirement:
