Black History Month Youth Leader Award

Honors two outstanding young athletes who excel in the classroom and in their community. Recognizes individuals—players, managers, or others connected to the football community—who embody leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to uplifting the Black community.

Award Details

• Recipients: Two awards total
  • One boys tackle football player
  • One girls flag football player
  • OR one individual who has made significant impact in football community
• Award Type: Recognition honor (no monetary amount specified)
• Geographic Scope: Illinois high schools

Eligibility Requirements

• Currently enrolled at a high school in Illinois
• Active participant in their high school football/girls flag program during the 2025 season
• Exemplifies Chicago Bears core values: respect, championship mindset, community, and perseverance

Selection Process

• Nominated by their football coaches
• Selected based on demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to uplifting the Black community
