Last Updated: November 04, 2025
Summary
The Botstiber Institute for Wildlife Fertility Control (BIWFC) focuses on advancing reproductive management to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts through collaborative efforts. They will no longer accept unsolicited proposals but will engage with organizations that align with their new focus on systemic and interdisciplinary issues. BIWFC aims to work with universities, not-for-profits, and government agencies to enhance wildlife fertility control's viability and sustainability, addressing pivotal concerns identified through expert engagement.Overview
NOTE: BIWFC will no longer release RFPs and will not accept unsolicited proposals. However, if you have identified an issue that resonates with BIWFC’s new focus and you are confident that you have the organizational capacity and expertise to collaborate in addressing the pivotal concern that you have identified, then please contact via contact info here. BIWFC historically has funded projects that align with its mission through a grants process driven by a Request for Proposals (RFP). While BIWFC’s support of discrete projects has yielded very important outcomes, BIWFC will now focus its grantmaking on tackling both systemic and interdisciplinary issues that impact wildlife fertility control’s viability and sustainability as an essential field in various place-based settings. BIWFC will identify these pivotal concerns by engaging with practitioners, researchers, policy experts, and social scientists. BIWFC will respond by collaborating with universities, not-for-profits, and government agencies through program design, implementation and, when appropriate, co-funding.Eligibility
