Bill and Sarah Ransom Community Service Award The Waverly Rotary Foundation in cooperation with the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is pleased to announce the request for nominees for the Bill and Sarah Ransom Community Service Award. Rotary was one of the many organizations that Bill was active in. His Waverly Rotary colleagues honor his commitment to the community with an annual award that recognizes similar service while benefiting local non-profits. Bill was a valley businessman and extremely active in many different groups in the community. He served on multiple boards and committees and always provided leadership and vision to these groups. He was active in the Sayre Presbyterian Church, Waverly Rotary Club, Tioga State Bank, Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT), Sayre Historical Society, and Guthrie Healthcare System to name just a few. Bill passed away on July 10, 2014 Sarah also had a strong sense of civic engagement. She was a founding member of Bradford County Partners for Family and Community Development. She also served on the boards of Bradford County United Way, Robert Packer Hospital, The Bridge, Troy’s Glenwood Cemetery, the Bradford County Library, and Valley Chorus. She served a four-year term on the Sayre Borough Council. Sarah passed away on April 21, 2022. They were committed to making their community a stronger and better place to live, work, and enjoy life. The recipient of this award will be someone who displays attributes that are consistent with Bill and Sarah’s beliefs and their relentless contributions and dedication to our community. On an annual basis, nominations will be reviewed through a formal application process. The recipient of the award will then be given the honor of selecting a local charity to receive the award money.

Nominators must be individuals, not organizations, though an individual may nominate a colleague within their organization/place of employment.
