    Background: Inaugural cohort (2021) included six recipients: Luchina Fisher (Untitled Gary & Gia Documentary), Carrie Hawks (Inner Wound Real), Laura Kamugisha (Hyphen), Ashley O'Shay (Southmont Drive), Cariba Party and Nadja Odi Thomas (Untitled Documentary Feature).

    Jury: Composed of BIPOC nonfiction makers, curators, writers, academics, and industry leaders including Chloe Gbai, Sabrina Schmidt Gordon, Peláza-Botero, Abby Sun, Nicole Tsien, and Farihah Zaman.
