As a cost-plus builder, we never set the prices of our homes based on what the market is willing to pay. Instead, we establish a reasonable margin, adding that to our hard costs (without including overhead). This means our home prices only increase when our costs increase; it also means that we lower our prices when our costs go down, and we've done that many times over the past thirty years.
