The Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards in Geography & Entrepreneurship, sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, recognize outstanding research in the intersection of geography and entrepreneurship. Awardees receive $1,500 and complimentary registration for the AAG annual meeting, along with the opportunity to present their work. Eligible candidates include students and researchers whose papers address significant environmental, economic, and social issues, contributing to the practical understanding of entrepreneurship.Overview
Thanks to sponsorship from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the AAG is pleased to offer two annual awards for promising research studying geography and entrepreneurship. The purpose of this award program is to identify innovative research in business, applied or community geography, that is relevant to questions related to entrepreneurs and their firms, as well as to relevant practitioners and policymakers. Research that has direct practical implications and addresses pressing environmental, economic and/or social problems is especially appropriate for these awards. Best Paper Award is given to the student, practitioner or faculty member who is the sole or primary author on the paper.Best Student Paper Award is given to the undergraduate or graduate student who is the sole or primary author on the paper. To be eligible for this award, an individual must still be a student (i.e., still enrolled at the institution where the student pursued their degree) at the time the paper is submitted. The awardee of each award will receive a check for $1,500. The awardee and runner up for both awards will receive complimentary registration for the AAG annual meeting and will be invited to present their research in a session highlighting geography and entrepreneurship during the conference.Eligibility

Original papers are encouraged but published work can be submitted. One entry per primary author is permitted.
