Be 911 Compressions-Only CPR Program

General population CPR training program offering free compressions-only CPR instruction to New Yorkers of all ages. Funded by FDNY Foundation and NYC Service.

Geographic Scope: All five boroughs of New York City

Eligible Participants: General public of all ages

Program Details:

• Free compressions-only CPR training
• Taught by certified Emergency Medical Service (EMS) professionals
• Training in hands-only CPR technique
• Part of life-saving citizen responder initiative

Impact:

• Trained more than 110,000 New Yorkers in compressions-only CPR (as of late 2015)
• Mobile CPR Unit conducted more than 850 CPR classes citywide in one year
• Trained more than 13,000 New Yorkers in one year period
