Overview

Barbara Burt Innovative Leader Fund The Innovative Leader Fund is named for Barbara A. Burt. For more than thirty years, Mrs. Burt demonstrated outstanding commitment to, and leadership of Allen County headquartered charitable and philanthropic organizations. To celebrate the contributions Mrs. Burt made to the leadership of nonprofit organizations, both public charities and private philanthropy, the Foellinger Foundation Board of Directors established the Barbara Burt Innovative Leader Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to: Encourage exceptional nonprofit board governance;Support adaptive thinking within nonprofit organizations; andPromote exchanges about best leadership styles and practices within nonprofit organizations Board members may use these funds to access or attend conferences, workshops, or webinars outside Allen County but within the Continental United States. Requests must be received no later than 30 days before the start date of a conference or a webinar.

Eligibility

Any Allen County headquartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides direct programming and is in good standing with the IRS may apply for partial funding for up to two current board members to participate in an educational opportunity specifically designed to meet one of the three purposes of the Fund. All educational opportunities must be directly related to the leadership of nonprofit organizations.
