Banner Bank Community Support Program Grant

The Banner Bank Community Support Program offers grants to nonprofit organizations in Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho focusing on housing, youth development, financial education, and economic growth. Priority is given to programs aiding low- and moderate-income populations. Organizations applying must not discriminate and should support essential community services. Applications are accepted year-round, with a review period of 45-60 days. However, certain areas, such as individual scholarships and political organizations, are ineligible for funding.

NOTE: Please allow 45-60 days for consideration of your grant request. Funder accepts applications year round, but issues a cutoff date for funding needed in the current calendar year. The deadline above reflects the anticipated cutoff date.

Areas considered for Banner Gives grants include:
Housing, especially programs that address homelessness and opportunities to advance affordable housing such as home ownership counseling and projects creating and/or preserving access to affordable housingYouth academic achievement, civic involvement, financial literacy (see below), as well as physical and emotional developmentFinancial education for youth and adultsEconomic development with greatest emphasis on aiding small business and small farm development and lending, workforce development education, job creation and retention

Ineligibility

Banner Gives grants are not available to support the following:The development or production of books, films, videos or television programsIndividual pre-K—12 schools, supporting foundations or PTA/PTO organizationsMemorial campaignsTravel-related events, including school trips or toursSports, athletic events or programsIndividuals, including those seeking scholarships or fellowship assistanceGovernments, municipal agencies or fiscally sponsored organizationsEndowments, fundraising campaigns or debt retirement/deficit fundingAny organization aimed at promoting or discouraging the observance of religious beliefsPolitical, labor or fraternal organizations or civic clubs, though we will consider supporting such organizations’ funding of homeless shelters, soup kitchens or other social servicesWe also do not provide funding to any organization that discriminates based on race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran, or disability status, or that espouses hate.
