    Application Process

    1. Chair Selection:
    - Select a qualified Balanced Man Scholarship (BMS) chairman
    - Should be organized, dependable, and capable of delegating responsibility
    - Vice president of recruitment should not serve as BMS chairman

    - Research what has and hasn't worked for the chapter in the past
    - Review best practices from chapters around the country
    - Create a detailed project plan and timeline

    3. Key Planning Elements:
    - Determine awards ceremony date and location
    - Set timeline for mailing/emailing applicants
    - Schedule interview dates and determine interview conductors
    - Establish budget for scholarships and ceremony
    - Select interview committee members

    4. Outreach Activities:
    - Write letters to incoming students, parents, and high school guidance counselors
    - Build mailing lists for high schools sending students to your institution
    - Create promotional materials

    5. Documentation:
