Organization: Great Khalid Foundation Inc

Overview: Local, need-based initiative providing middle school children with new backpacks filled with school supplies needed to start the school year with excitement and confidence. The program aims to provide children with tools they need to focus on their studies and be successful in the classroom, while alleviating financial burden for parents.

- Since 2019, The Great Khalid Foundation has supplied 1,850 stuffed backpacks to incoming middle school students

- Target population: Incoming middle school students with demonstrated need
- Application submission: District personnel and middle school principals across the El Paso and Las Cruces region are invited to apply on behalf of their students
