Overview Beatrice Educational Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, was established in 1987, and one of the first education foundations in the State of Nebraska. The Foundation’s purpose is to provide a permanent source of financial support for the expansion and enrichment of learning opportunities for the Beatrice School District. The Foundation manages a $3.8 million Endowment Fund and awards over $55,000 each year in scholarships to Beatrice High School graduating seniors. The intent of the Foundation is to provide funds to deserving students needing assistance to attend a school of higher learning. Should a recipient receive other scholarship funds in excess of need, the Foundation scholarship will not be forwarded at that time. It will, however, be available for a five-year period should the recipient need these funds at a later date for tuition, room and board, or books. Foundation scholarships are restricted to undergraduate studies. Bachenberg, Leona and Henry Educational Trust One $5,000 scholarship for graduating seniors who reside in Gage County or Pawnee County and graduating from Pawnee County High School, Lewiston High School, Beatrice High School, Wymore-Southern High School, Freeman High School, or Diller-Odell High School. Applicant must demonstrate scholastic ability and intent to continue his/her education in the field of nursing or other health related field. Other consideration will be given to participation and leadership in school and community activities and educational goals. The scholarship is renewable for four 17 years, upon satisfactory proof of enrollment, continuing in the qualifying course of study, and maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. There will be one recipient from Pawnee County High School and one from a Gage County high school. Applications available in Student Services and MUST be in the applicant’s handwriting.Eligibility
